It's been, how long??
Haven't posted in ages. My blog has practically collected so much dust, it is hard to believe my blog was not swept through by a blizzard of dust bunnies.
Here goes nothing:
emblematic list? Why not.
Why is it that guys are utter oafs one day and kind-hearted gentlemen the other? Prince Charming does not exist—trust me. No matter how hard we wish for that man to gently fall down from the clouds and sweep you off your feet—no, that wish will only come true in your lovely inconceivable dreams.
1. Yes, all guys are only looking for one thing—no matter how much they deny it.
2. You find this so called Prince, spend more time with him and then let me know how much of a prince he becomes.
3. He showers you with compliments—considering the sweet and gorgeous person you are: yes they might be true. However, don’t be surprised if he has used all these same exact lines with other girls from his past.
4. When he begins to treat you like a friend instead of his girlfriend—watch out, better off leave him now than keep playing this pretend game.
5. I won’t deny it, there are a special few that become the exception—take care of those guys, their hearts tend to be highly fragile.
6. A guy worth keeping will never push you to do something you wouldn’t do.
7. Girls: stop being too forward, there’s a reason why guys are like this—yes, it is hard to admit but they are not the only ones to blame.
8. Take everything slowly—there used to be something called courtship: familiar with the term?
9. It is all about moving forward—girls don’t ever cry for ANY guy, he might have broken you heart but it is NOT worth it. He’ll regret his decision, trust me—and you’ll be moving on.
10. Don’t ever EVER compare your ex to your current boyfriend or soon-to-be boyfriend. Please, nobody wants to be compared to a total jerk especially when the purpose of having a new boyfriend is to forget about the old one. No comparisons please—it is inappropriate and very rude.
11. Keep your best friends away from your boyfriend girls—no, it’s not about jealousy. It is about boundaries: let him have his friends and you can have your friends, space makes the relationship last.
12. Listen to each other: it is always a beautiful thing to have good communication with your boyfriend. If something is on his mind: ask him about it, listen to what he says, and let him know how you feel. This way, you’ll learn more about each other and he’ll know that you’ll always be there for advice.
13. Support is all you need. Learn more about his goals and ambitions in life and support him in every way possible—guys like to know that their girlfriend is on their side and enjoy having someone there to motivate them and push them to strive forward.
14. Don’t ever nag—who wants a girlfriend that is always bickering about what he eats or what he wears or what he is watching? If something is annoying you, instead of bickering, just suggest that whatever he is doing just doesn’t suit your taste. Perhaps, he’ll understand your motif and let this bad habit go away. Or better yet, let him be! If you have to constantly nag because something continuously bothers you about him, then it just isn't meant to be.
15. Cling, Cling, Cling—please do not feel the need to always hold on to your man, follow him around, and call or text him every day. Please, the man needs his space! He is going out with you because he likes you, no need to hang on to him like a baby chimp. Instead, let him miss you—this way, you’ll keep him wanting you. ;)
16. Love, love, love—make sure that once you say those three special words, both of you mean it. I know, it becomes hard to resist but think before you speak. You’ll know when to say those words, they’ll come out naturally from the two of you when it is time. :)
17. Family—make sure that once you’re ready to meet his family, don’t ever act any different than who you truly are. Changing personalities will not do any good to the both of you. Be natural and enjoy this special bonding time.
18. Be honest—always let him know of anything that is going on in your mind. Secrets should never be kept from each other, he’s your boyfriend, your best friend. He should know everything about you just as much as you want to know about him.
19. I know, everyone has their dirty little secrets—if you think this might jeopardize your relationship, don’t tell them. He will eventually find out about them when the right time comes..
20. Stop jumping to conclusions—-yes, one day he might have a female friend hanging out with him for some coffee but please don’t become the jealous girlfriend. The worst thing you can do is try to get him back by hanging out with a male friend of yours. Let him have his space, you and I know that he’ll never cheat on you. If he does, let him go—come on, there are more than plenty of handsome apples to pick out from the fruitful tree.
21. Mistakes happen—whether you think you let go of the perfect man, give it some time. It is never good to go running back to him, it will only break your precious heart even more. Patience and time will do the both of you good.
There is more to add but I might sound monotonous so for now, I will end it here and possibly add more at a later time.
And for ol' times sake, here is a quote for the last few minutes of VDay:
"The greatest weakness of most humans is their hesitancy to tell others how much they love them while they’re still alive."

Sweet Flowers
I've came to realize (a long time ago) that there are many problems in this world.
There is never a day that goes by in which I don't wish I could help solve them all.
That's just inconceivable.
However, I still try to do my best in helping the people around me to be stress free. Sometimes my empathy gets the best of me. Despite that, I still feel the need to take care of all of my friends and family. In all honesty, if they were to tell me the one single thing that would make them happy forever, I'd cross the world to find that precious item for them. I wouldn't want anything in return. The only thing I'd be more than happy to accept is a beautiful thank you and a hug.
There's a purpose to this post.
My reason could be more elaborate but I'd like to keep this next post short as well.
We all have problems: big and small, mathematical and logistic, irrelevant and life changing. No matter how difficult the problem may seem, there is always a way out. The answer is hiding, all there is to do is find it. That's the beauty of life: our hardships are mere lessons that we grow to master as we continue to fail them with every trial. Once we overcome these problems, we pick up so much from them and learn to discover opportunities and inspiration in them.
Just remember not to take life's problems and hardships as a burden rather receive them as a comforting sigh of relief knowing that the challenges that you're about to go through will be worth all the effort once you see the reward that life will compensate you with.
When hardships come your way let the strength of your character show: be courageous, smart, faithful, and calm. In other words:
"Flowers never emit so sweet and strong a fragrance as before a storm. When a storm approaches thee, be as fragrant as a sweet-smelling flower."

Let's Bite it
Short post.
Quick and dirty:
School!!
2 weeks down :) It's already September!!
20 more days until the big day! :)
Until then, labor day weekend here I come :)
So much work this semester, I already know this weekend will be filled with a lot of homework. I'm almost done filling out my planner for the semester. I don't know what I'll do without my planner :) I was going to do 20hrs this semester, on the account that I am attending 2 schools at once.
I don't feel 20hrs is a lot as long as they're managed well.
I've come to believe this is very much true:
"Every now and then, bite off more than you can chew."

Enjoy it While it Lasts
So this weekend was absolutely amazing. Words cannot describe how wonderful it was.
I can't thank my Nati enough for letting me go to Waco one last time.
I was not expecting to see all the people that I had bumped into!
First,Friday was filled with unexpected visits. So many things happened at once, I cannot even remember what happened first! I gave my roommate a HUGE surprise when she saw me. We had a great time hanging out, wishing each other the best for the approaching school year. I also had a great time at lunch with my Moody friends and later that night we went to a restaurant where I had 11 people at dinner with me! I had such an amazing time catching up with everyone that night! After dinner, we all went back to Walmart and had a little adventure there! Then, we paid a visit to my buddy hugheysan's cutie pie, puppy! We brought the puppy with us and went back to the apartment where we watched a "horror" movie. The movie wasn't great but the time spent with everyone was definitely worth it :)
The next morning I woke up bright and early to a wonderful time at breakfast. :) I was taken to Jason's Deli by my oh so funny and caring buddy, ryon. We caught up with everything we had done over the summer and planned our future excursion in Austin! :) I had a fun time talking a whole lot, it made me feel better that I wasn't the only one nervous when I saw him spill water on himself at the water fountain. :3 After eating, we went to his apartment where I got to meet his adorable pit bull! I was covered with yummy kisses that day! ^_^ We stayed there for a while until we finally had to depart because he had to go to work. :(
After breakfast I paid my beautiful friend Miss Castro a visit! I was so happy that I was able to see her! She is such a wonderful person, I am going to miss her very much! :) While I was at her place, my sweet buddy "The Camera Man" came over to see me! We had such a wonderful time talking together. Like always, he made me feel much better about everything that we had talked about. I always feel at ease every time I am with him because he never fails in knowing what to say. After talking for a while, we decided to grab a bite to eat. We went back with Nati and the gang and had lunch at our favorite spot: Teriyaki Park where we saw my gorgeous friend christine! I was pleasantly surprised to see her! The day kept getting better and better as I kept running into everyone I had wished to see!
We all came back to the apartment after eating. Since the plan was to leave around 0330,we killed some time by putting on music and busting a few moves! I had such an awesome time teaching josh a few moves! We danced to merengue and bachata--that moment was totally something to remember! ^_^
Austin. Surprises are always eventful. This night was definitely an eventful moment! From the trip in the car(aaaaah Mr White is always a good companion, I will miss him dearly), to the dinner, and the trip back in the car and the more surpise visits when I got back home! I feel so blessed having Mili in my life. He deserved the surprise dinner plus more! The event had a few bumps on the road but it all wrapped up gracefully! This dinner was a success! The next time we all reunite for his arrival back to the States--words cannot describe how crazy it will be! :)
Sunday: the day of departure. I was able to see the person that I had been waiting to see for months! My other half was with her family and I was lucky to stop by to her house and arrive just in time to catch her family there as well! We had such a short visit :( But I know that next time we meet, we'll make up for the separation! It'll definitely be a fun time! ^_^
I am leaving out so many details in this post! Grrrr I know i won't be able to write again until the end of the week. :/
Sooooooo many things have been left out but everything is summed up for the most part. School is tomorrow. I have to sleep! 8am-6pm Mondays! Tuesdays and Thursdays are FREE! no classes at all! Well, no classes until NEXT week. Ah. I should enjoy it while it lasts.
I am anxious yet SUPER nervous to start!
Until then,

Let's go Insane
I have been slacking. I apologize!
I wrote a lot this summer--but everything is saved as a draft! I never got the chance to go back and continue with what I had started. :/ I will have to go back and bring each topic that I started back up and post them soon. :)
Ah, this insane heat.
It's a little hectic, indeed.
Just as crazy as this as this summer. I cannot believe that summer is already over. It seems like just yesterday I was thinking, of how fast summer was going to go by--and here I am, anticipating the first day of school!
Summer was incredible--I cannot believe how fast the days go by when one is having fun! Perhaps, I should have done something to make it last longer but then again...I want school to start already! So, no need to slow down time--for now. :)
I am very excited about my first day of school but as the days get closer to the 22nd, I feel more and more sick. I am feeling homesick! Of a home away from home! I am missing my BU home! I knew this was going to happen, and I am just coping with it :) Just like with a fever--you've just got to sweat it out. Hence, my Insanity and Zumba workouts--oh man, those sure are some heavy BUCKETS of sweat. Ah, it all feels very good though :)
As I am getting over my home sickness, I am starting to realize how much I wanted to come to this new school. When I saw my older brother in his graduation robe, stepping up the steps to receive his university diploma, I knew that I wanted to follow his steps and claim his school as my own alma mater. My brother had always been a huge inspiration and motivation in my life. He is the sole reason I have come this far. I feel proud to be representing his school and I will be sure not to disappoint. :)
I've been telling a lot of my friends and family about my transferring of schools and to my surprise, everyone has been extremely excited to see that I am staying home. A lot of my friends that are already attending this school, are already making plans to study together and to hangout. My aunts and cousins gave me a huge hug and smile when they heard the knews. (I am excited about spending more time with them now that I am home.) Even my dad's clients and friends are excited that I will be studying closer home. I feel great having all of this support.
I currently have a full schedule. I have been looking at all of the clubs and activites that my new school has to offer and I have fallen in love with a lot of them! I don't want to overwhelm myself with too many extra curricular activities since this is my first semester here, so I am cutting down my options to dedicate my time to a few ones.
During my orientation, I met a certified personal trainer! Ah! My own personal trainer--I will definitely have fun this summer :) On our plan: real bootcamp, marathons, and hours at our Rec Center!!!!! I AM SO EXCITED! I've got my workout plans ready for the semester! :D
Summer is over. I had an absolutely incredible time with the people I love. I got to see old friends, enjoy amazing days with my (almost vegan) bestie, spend time with new friends, and got a special visit from my wonderful bud from Austin! <--that was the highlight of my summer indeed!
New school. New year. I CANNOT wait to meet new people. :) New friends will come, but one thing is for sure--my BU friends made a lasting impression in my heart and they will remain there forever...whether they like it or not! and I will be sure to go back and visit everyone sometime soon. :)
Who knows when I will post next. -_- I really have to post all those drafts that I started...The first big event is my first week of school-->definitely will post something there! and THEN oh gosh--a MONTH after the first day of school will be MY BIRTHDAY. Not much of an event there! we'll see how it goes.:) Time to go insane this semester--insane from all that studying of course. :/

Kicking the Bucket
I have not posted in such a long time! Almost two weeks! So many things have been going on! Ah summer, busy busy :) Update(late but needs to be said): My Heat unfortunately lost but we did great! We got this far but the Mavs took it--congrats Mavs! y'all worked for it, y'all got it :) the entire series was awesome, enjoyed it very much! We'll see how things go next time--GO HEAT! :)
I am finally back! So many things need to be said! However, first things first: There are an infinite amount of things that I wish to do. All of which I will get accomplished--most definitely! Here is the thing: one will never get anywhere if one does not put their foot down first and stop letting things get in their way. Therefore, I will begin with a list and why not start with:
Things to do before I kick the bucket!
(haha sorry, that sounds so depressing but my little smileys will give it a hint of happy!)
While it would be amazing to make a summer bucket list and run through it all in one summer, I will resort to a lifetime bucket list of which I can cross out anytime of the year :) Many of these things, I've dreamed of doing since I was a child. A lot of the things are small and conceivable while others sound pretty far fetched (reason why they are on a bucket list!). "Quit hanging on to the handrails . . . Let go. Surrender. Go for the ride of your life. Do it every day."

Finals
The series is now tied!! 2-2!!! Miami can still do it! Go HEAT!
I was on the edge of my seat the entire game! I was so close to cursing--that's how intense it was. Dwayne Wade...oh man, that surely was a very brainless move. But you've done good--I'll let it pass. Good game, very good game nonetheless! A tie is a tie--we are still going to come back! We're going to do this! GO HEAT! WE GOT THIS!

I thee wed...
Marriage: the final step in uniting the long lived, amorous relationship that has been steadily building throughout many passively strained years.
Indeed, many dream of the day when the bond that has been maintaining the sometimes antithetical relationship intact becomes officially sealed off through the covenant of marriage. It truly is a wonderful milestone, a thrilling adventure, and unforgettable experience. I am not thinking about being wed any time soon, I began this post because one of my best friends (whom I met in middle school and have remained the best of friends since) told me that she will be getting married soon. I have not met her fiancée yet since he is from Wales and when we came to visit, I was not in town because I was off in school. She told me that they met, like most modern relationships these days, online. She told me that despite being long-distance, she is still very happy with him. I asked her about the wedding day and location, she informed me that she has been planning to get married here but possibly move in with him in the near future.
I am sure that she has been feeling the need to get married soon since she and her fiancée live miles away and the only way to keep their relationship strong is by being together. In my opinion, I feel that she should have given this a little more thought since it has not even been two years since she met the guy. Like most of the people from my generation, (at least from my side of town) the majority has already fallen down the path of pregnancy and young marriage--I wouldn't be surprised if most of them eloped.
I've been asked once by a guy from my previous university(the only person that was able to get out so much information from me. Information about me that I would have never shared with anyone. I have no idea how he did it--but more on that later): "your career path will make you a very busy woman--have you even given marriage a thought?" We talked about this topic for hours. I told him that I have obviously thought about marriage but I am going to let it happen when it happens. I honestly have not made an ever-changing list of my ideal fairy tale marriage or laid out the characteristics of my oh so handsome dream man like most women do. Yes, I might be a precariously picky person at times but honestly, I am not looking for anything special in a man. I am not looking for anything special in a marriage. I am just going to accept what comes my way--having a captious attitude will not get you anywhere. Well, I will only maintain that attitude at work since that's the only way you get things done. Looking at the nature of life's beautiful surprises with a critical eye will only make your life miserable because you can't always get what you want--especially if the standards are inconceivably high.
Another thing that he had asked me was, "You came here to study but has it ever occurred to you that you might find your future husband here?" I laughed when he said that. Part of me laughed because of his straight-forwardness and part of me laughed because he was absolutely correct. My roommate had also commented on that point and I never put much thought into it. I never planned on coming to school to find a boyfriend or a future husband. If anything, I never even considered having a boyfriend my freshman year of college and while it did happen, I was very happy it did and I don't regret one single moment of it because he confirmed what I have been reiterating: let things fall into place, if they happen it's because they happen for a reason--and the reason will be worth it every time and the time spent will always be a good one.
My point of this post--No, I won't let marriage or any kind of relationship interfere with my school and career. Yes, I am surely going to become a workaholic--I can feel it already. No, I am not looking for someone special anytime soon. Yes, marriage is a beautiful thing but it is surely not anywhere near the top of my to-do list at this point in life including any form of serious relationship. No, I am not going to runaway from dating--I am going to hide and then run (I'm an expert at both.) No, seriously--I won't hide or run, I'll just let God make the decisions and whatever he decides, I will follow through.
Ok, I've certainly given my two cents on that topic. While I still have a lot more things to say, I will continue another time. As for now, I need to continue my reading--the list of books which I have yet to post!
The good thing is that I have already begun a book: "The Carbon War" by Jeremy Leggett Should be a very interesting read! I will be glued to this book--for sure!
Addendum:
Day 2 of school
I got to see two of my old high school friends at my community college (I'll include names to make things less confusing by only using my oh so wearisome pronouns.) Abraham and Daniel--very good people(They're one of the few guys that I've met with a well mannered personality and polite manners toward girls as well as adults, their parents raised them well.) I had not seen them in over a year! Apparently they will both be transferring soon to the university that I am going to attend this coming fall. I guess the transfer won't be too bad after all. I'll see old friends and I'm specially excited to make new friends! I'm definitely going to be sad that I won't be able to go back to my other school...but more on that later.

First Day!
Today has been an extraordinarily amazing day! First day of school and it was wonderful! Despite having to wake up early every day of the week, I am still excited for this semester of classes! My best friend came with me to school, so I spent the entire day with her. Hopefully, she will still be able to attend school with me and we can continue our little discussions and in depth debates at school!
I feel that this day was specially wonderful because my very good friend gave me a call. It was completely unexpected so I was pleasantly surprised to hear from him! We talked for a long time and caught up on everything we've done this summer! I met him at my previous university and after quite a few days of spending time together, we became very good friends! He is currently at a summer camp in Arkansas--today was his day off which is why he was able to give me a call. He has been working there with kids--from what he has told me, he has been having a lot of fun! I've seen him how we gets along with children--kids see him as a super star so this summer camp is perfect for him! It's completely adorable how he has gained so many cute nicknames! My favorite is Domo and Ninja! He is always full of joy and energy! Which is why people love him so much! He told me that he has been outdoors a lot so he has gained a tan! His hair has also grown so he told me that he looks like a completely different person! This is his first time visiting Arkansas and he told me that he is going to be spending the entire summer there--until August! He also told me that he is hoping to come down to visit me sometime this semester so that we can hangout. :) I was very happy that I was able to talk to him! He made my entire week!
Hopefully, this week I will also be able to see my amazing friends after I finish class! It is always a lot of fun spending time with them as well! I am also going to see them this weekend!

Random
I hate it when random guys add me on facebook. Seriously, do they really think I am going to add them?
Well, thinking about it, there have been a few people that I have added without knowing them. I meet them once and accept their friend request. However, I always go to my friends list and delete them if I find that they post inappropriate material or if I find that we will never become real friends in real life.
This irks me as much as random guys asking for my number...seriously. I would not give it a second thought--I reject without pity. I've done it so many times, I sometimes do it automatically.

Reminisce
So many graduations this weekend--these days will be filled with so many things to do. I had already made a pact to stay away from a few things this year, but I will enforce it after Monday so attending graduation will remain on the to-do list. As for an introduction of myself I apologize: but I am not having one. I'd rather keep my identity private for sometime--a few clues might be shown here and there but I am not a fan of publicizing my name in vain.
Back to graduation: I congratulate all the 2011 graduates. It truly is a great feat in their lives, both grads from high school and college. I could keep elaborating on that thought but I already wrote my heart out on my speech for my own graduation--perhaps wrote more than what the audience had anticipated to hear. But hey, I might have put a few people to sleep but that abrupt switch to a different language--I got them there(despite what others might have thought)! My farewell address was not purposely long, like I said before--I love to write. The original copy had been twice as long but it was cut short by the senior adviser. Everyone kept asking me if I had been nervous while delivering my speech. Honestly, four years back had I known that I was going to deliver a speech in front of a massive audience--I would have died right then and there. However on that day, I did not feel any form of butterflies in my stomach. I felt calm. The only thing that bothered me the MOST was the wires in my mouth. No I am not speaking of braces--I had already adjusted to those. I am speaking of the pestering springs holding on to dear life in the sides of my mouth. The necessary evil needed to adjust my assumed-to-be perfect teeth. Oh those springs were death. I dreaded those weeks with the badgering springs. One thing was having the cuts in my mouth and having an awkward bumpy smile,I was ok with that--the thing that got me the most was speaking with those wires. Seriously, I already have an awkward accent, but those springs made me slur and literally spit my words out(to this day, that proneness to spitting has unfortunately remained. I spray it not say it. I should just stop talking as much as I do!). Yes, I still had those springs on graduation day and I dreaded giving my speech because of that. Despite that little problem, I still had an amazing time delivering an amazing speech--I'd do it again in a flash, even with wires constricting the precious words that always come out of my oh so lovely mouth. I'll be waiting for this year's speech. It won't top mine of course but I'll give them a chance to express their glorious words.
My graduation day was indeed unforgettable. I had the honor of sitting on stage. This gave me the perfect view of the entire ceremony. I miraculously did not trip or fall. This was the sole reason as to why I specifically bought the shoes I had. The only problem I kept having was a wardrobe malfunction. It was a strapless dress so it kept slipping off from the weight of my phone and safety pins. The dress had pockets in it so I was holding safety pins for the girls or guys in my class (I was able to aid a few people that day thanks to those pins) and I was carrying my phone despite what the administrators had said, "no cell phones allowed." I was an honor student so they wouldn't tell me anything--got away with every thing. One of the pleasures of being a female honor student--I know how to work my way around. Well, luckily, the graduation gown covered anything that did not need to be displayed so the wardrobe malfunction was overcome.
That day was also filled with many surprises--good and bad. I was able to see old friends which made me very happy. Well, after the graduation ceremony, I had a wonderful party at my house. A lot of my family attended the ceremony and dinner party. My family: I don't even know where to begin. My family is composed of so many people, we can make our own little city--seriously. There are so many relatives that I have not even met it's not even funny. My huge family: that's another topic that I'll be more than happy to elaborate on, it's very interesting how the relationships in my family function.
With all this reminiscence, I feel the need to stop before I get motion sickness...Seriously I don't know where all these flashbacks are coming from but I'll just stop here for now. It's all about looking forward so that's exactly what I will be doing. The next thing that is on my agenda is my college graduation with honors. :)
Great, now Vitamin C's Graduation song is playing in my head... "As we go on, we remember All the times we had together And as our lives change, from whatever We will still be, friends forever"

No time outs
I have always been attracted to the art of writing. This was probably derived from being a young avid reader until the last years of my high school career. Now that I am in college, opening a book for leisure becomes such a treat. I've been adding to my list of books to read. It keeps getting longer and has not gotten one bit shorter since I started adding to it. I will post the list soon. Perhaps this will motivate me to start crossing names off of it. I shall continue writing as well.
This summer is going to be filled with summer classes but this should not be an excuse to keep me from blowing the dust off that deserted book and cracking it open. Perhaps I will continue writing (I have so many poems stashed in my laptops and notebooks.)I am not going to say that they are the least perfect because they are terrible. I could do better if I try but most of those poems were written in the surge of boredom.
I am a huge fan of music. My favorite are non-mainsstream music. I have been lagging on my music as well, I need to jump back on my music expertise and go to more local concerts this summer.
If time allows, it would be wonderful to continue my paintings. I never make time to paint. It is such a great form of meditation along with jogging and dancing( I could do both of these activities endlessly without getting tired).
On another note, this summer and coming school year(s) I will go back to what I did best in high school: seclusion! Meaning: no phone (hence no texting), no social networks, no social "events", no interaction with the male gender(surprising, I know-- but that is how it was in high school),little interaction with girl friends, nothing that will jeopardize my 4.0. Yes, I am sounding a little too extreme. However, it was definitely all worth it in high school! Yes, this is not high school, it's college. Actually, this had been my original plan on the first day of my college career but things happened--and well it's not too late to keep following the plan!
Therefore, blogs might be my only form of "fun." I sound so boring right now. I don't mind! I've had my good dose of fun--too much perhaps. This will just mean going back to my normal self and experiencing college in a much calmer level.
The plan will initiate soon since summer classes are right around the corner--we'll see how this goes. I am really up for the challenge, I know I can do it.
